Microsoft Teams Meetings

 UX Design Research

Summary

In my years with Microsoft, I went from being a vendor/contractor to a full-time employee, received a promotion and relocated to lead mixed methods research for the Prague Design Studio.

In 2023 I received the Microsoft Teams Calling, Meetings and Devices Partner Culture Award:

“Edward goes above and beyond into the perspectives, needs, and challenges of our customers; ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also integrated into the design solutions. He actively collaborates with various teams, breaking down silos and fostering a culture of customer-centricity through the organization.”

My top accomplishments are:

  • Uncovered and championed social/emotional jobs to be done and leveraged these to innovate on features within the meeting invite/join flow; improving confidence and comfort with Teams meetings.

  • Built partnerships across the organization’s verticals, to enable cross-geo, cross-team success for features like: meeting invite, scheduling, screensharing, breakout rooms and Teams Premium.

  • Managed and accelerated the growth of our customer-panel research program by restructuring recruitment strategies in order to connect product teams more regularly with customer-panels and to connect with more difficult-to-reach target populations.

  • Analyzed and restructured understandings of usage data to build more accurate goals to bring more meaningful and precise understanding of in-market product health.

  • Gathered and generated insights from mixed data sources to identify key opportunities for investment, enabling our business goals for new user growth and active user retention.

Due to the nature of my work, I can’t show you much.
